South's Plunkett to play in Top 100 event
The 16th annual IBCA/IHSAA Underclass Showcase events have been set for July 9 and July 16 at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis.
Staged by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association with support from the Indiana High School Athletic Association, the Underclass Showcase events are designed to give exposure to approximately 200 of the top basketball prospects (about 100 boys and about 100 girls) from across the state to colleges across the state and nation.
South Putnam’s Allen Plunkett will participate in the boys’ showcase on Monday, with Greencastle’s Bryce Rector and North Putnam’s Collin McCartt serving as two of the coaches.
Edgewood’s Trevor Taylor and Owen Valley’s Dazia Drake are the only other Western Indiana Conference participants.
The 2018 Boys’ Showcase will be on Monday, July 9. Activity will begin at 2 p.m. and will last until about 7:45 p.m. The 2018 Girls’ Showcase will be on Monday, July 16. Again, action will begin at 2 p.m. and last until about 7:45 p.m.
The showcase events are open to the public. Admission is $5 per person per day. IBCA-member coaches will be admitted at no charge by showing their IBCA membership card.
