County Jail

Three people were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Thursday.

• At 8:03 p.m. Joshua Lee Cunningham, 33, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia with a prior conviction and on a local warrant for theft.

• At 6:30 p.m. Destiny LaRae Saul, 27, Poland, was taken into custody for domestic battery.

• At 6:13 p.m. Brett B. Buddy, 28, Cloverdale, was booked in for domestic battery.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated four recent property-damage accidents.

• At 1:05 p.m. on Monday, Janet E. Smith, 67, Fillmore, was eastbound on County Road 150 North just east of County Road 550 East in a 2014 Buick Enclave.

Smith told Lt. Donnie Pettit that her attention was on something inside the vehicle, causing her to take her eyes of the road. The vehicle then left the south side of the road and entered a ditch.

Damage was estimated at $1,000-$2,500.

• At 7:30 a.m. on Monday, Keifer D. Dickison, 27, Brazil, was crossing U.S. 40 southbound from State Road 75 in a 2013 Toyota Tacoma. Tamica M. Bastin, 39, Fillmore, was eastbound on U.S. 40 in a 2017 Ford Escort.

Dickison told Lt. Pettit he did not see Bastin’s car and pulled into her path of travel.

Bastin could not avoid a collision.

Both vehicles were towed. Damage was estimated a t $5,000-$10,000.

Pettit was assisted at the scene by Deputy Brian Helmer.

• At 4:38 a.m. on Friday, June 29, Michael J. Tearman, 64, Danville, was westbound on U.S. 36 in a 2012 GMC Sierra when he hit a deer.

Deputy Robert Soilleux estimated damage at $5,000-$10,000.

• At 4 a.m. on Wednesday, June 27, Mary M. Draper, 58, Reelsville, was northbound on County Road 675 West just north of County Road 675 South in a 2015 Ford Escort when she hit a deer.

Lt. Pettit estimated damage at $1,000-$2,500.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to one recent dispatch:

•At 4:25 p.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to a large house fire at 10793 Millgrove Rd. in Quincy. Firefighters arrived on scene at 4:42 p.m. and assisted Cloverdale Fire Department with extinguishing the fire.

They cleared the scene at 9:48 p.m.

Additionally, GFD had one dispatch that was a disregard.
