County Jail

Eight persons were booked in the Putnam County Jail on Thursday.

• At 11:03 p.m., Lauren Louise Johnson, 32, Washington, Pa., was lodged at the jail on a local warrant for failure to appear.

• At 10:39 p.m., Nicole Marie Tibbits, 26, Massillon, Ohio, was booked into the jail on a local warrant for failure to appear.

• At 10:15 p.m., Joselyn Ray Thomas, 64, Danbury, Conn., was lodged in the jail on a local warrant for failure to appear.

• At 10:11 p.m., Blair Nicole Bascio, 29, Kirksville, Mo., was booked into the jail on a local warrant for failure to appear.

• At 10:37 a.m., Callie Ellen Barber, 26, Greencastle, was arrested and taken to the jail on a court order.

• At 2:37 a.m., Alysia Kay Cottingham, 21, Sullivan, was booked into the jail on charges of possession of paraphernalia and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

• At 1 a.m., Nicholas Jordan Bradshaw, 23, Danville, was lodged in the jail on an out-of-county warrant.

• At 12:51 a.m., Shawn Michael Galloway, 36, Greencastle, was booked into the jail on a local criminal warrant.

City Police

One personal-injury accident was reported early Friday by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 5:05 a.m., a one-vehicle mishap occurred as William Deaton, 51, Crawfordsville, was southbound in the 2000 block of South Jackson Street. Deaton was driving a 2005 GMC Envoy near Phoenix Closures when he reportedly blacked out behind the wheel, Officer Zach Rhine reported.

The vehicle left the roadway and went into a ditch, striking a no-parking sign and yellow protective pole.

Deaton suffered a severe laceration to his left elbow and forearm as well as back trauma, Rhine reported.

He was transported via Operation Life ambulance to Putnam County Hospital.

His vehicle sustained hood, bumper, radiator and engine damage. Total damage was estimated at $1,000-$2,500.

One citation was issued Thursday by City Police officers.

• At 4:25 p.m., Loren Leonard, 46, Greencastle, was ticketed by Officer Nick Eastham.

Stopped on Bloomington Street near South Street, Leonard was cited for driving with a suspended license with a prior offense.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to two recent dispatches:

• At 7:07 p.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church, 307 Simpson St., to assist with persons stuck in an elevator. Units arrived at 7:14 p.m. and freed the occupants without issue.

They left the scene at 7:23 p.m.

• At 5:04 a.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to 2000 S. Jackson St. for an accident with injuries. Units arrived at 5:11 a.m. and assisted with extrication of the victim.

They left the scene at 5:52 a.m.

Additionally, GFD performed a medical assist during this time.
