Boil order issued for Manhattan Road area

Thursday, July 26, 2018

The Reelsville Water Authority has announced a boil order for customers along Manhattan Road and neighboring roads.

Due to a water main break in the area, a boil order is in effect immediately from the 5000 block of County Road 375 West (Manhattan Road) and north to all customers along Manhattan Road and any side roads serviced by Reelsville Water.

The boil order will remain in effect for several days due to the timing of the break. Restoring regular water service involves getting clean samples for two straight days.

Since the break happened so late in the day on Thursday and the lab is not open on the weekend, the samples will have to be taken on Monday and Tuesday, making the morning of Wednesday, Aug. 1 the earliest possible time for the order to be lifted.

Anyone with questions may call the Reelsville Water Authority office at 672-8419.

  • Nope, we weren't notified till we came home from the fair and found our water pressure poor and when it did come out it was black; then read it in the Banner. We figured there was a problem somewhere...A robo-call of this nature would have been nice!
