Indiana State Police

A golf cart crash late Tuesday morning sent a Greencastle woman to an area hospital.

At around 11:30 a.m., emergency personnel responded to the crash near the intersection of County Road 675 West and 125 North in Madison Township.

Indiana State Police Master Trooper Troy Sunier discovered that a 15-year-old female from Arlington, Texas, was operating a golf cart northbound on 675 West and attempted a U-turn near 125 North. In doing so, the juvenile traveled off the east edge of the roadway and overturned the golf cart in a ditch area.

A passenger, Evelyn Yates, 70, of Greencastle, complained of neck, shoulder and arm pain and was transported to Hendricks Regional Health for treatment.

Assisting were ISP Trooper Colton Maynor, Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, Putnam County Operation Life and Madison Township Fire and Rescue.

County Jail

One person was booked in the Putnam County Jail on Tuesday.

• At 9:11 a.m. Scott Timothy Lyons, 23, New Palestine, was lodged at the jail for petition to revoke bond.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to one recent dispatch:

•At 11:20 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to the intersection of Jackson and Frazier streets for a motorcycle accident with injuries.

Greencastle City Police worked the accident but told the Banner Graphic Thursday that no information could yet be released.

GFD units arrived at 11:22 p.m. and assisted Operation Life with caring for the victims, as well as performing debris cleanup.

Firefighters cleared the scene at 1:49 a.m. Wednesday.

Additionally, GFD performed eight medical assists and had three disregards around this time.
