The 38th Infantry Division Deputy Commander, Brig. Gen. David Vesper, will send off approximately 140 soldiers from the 252nd Support Maintenance Company from Indianapolis.

The company will be led by Capt. Jimmy L. Beasley of Greencastle and 1st Sgt. Scott Runyan of Martinsville.

The soldiers will be part of military forces supporting U.S. European Command - Operation Atlantic Resolve efforts in Poland.

The company’s mission involves providing maintenance, calibration and vehicle recovery in support of the U.S. Army Europe - Operation Atlantic Resolve throughout its respective area of operation.

“We have been working diligently preparing for this mission,” Beasley said. “The soldiers are excited to do their jobs and demonstrate their capabilities as a maintenance company.”

The unit has been training since 2017 for the upcoming deployment. It will spend some time briefly in Fort Hood, Texas, prior to departing for Poland.
