City Police

Two recent arrests were reported by Greencastle City Police officers.

• At 4:02 a.m. Saturday, Clayton Spencer, 22, Fillmore, was arrested on an alcohol-related charge by Officer Luke Brown.

Stopped on Bloomington Street, Spencer was lodged in the Putnam County Jail for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

Spencer’s PBT (portable blood test) registered .13 percent, police said.

• At 10 a.m. Friday, Edward Willis, 46, Greencastle, was arrested on a Putnam County warrant for possession of methamphetamine.

Taken into custody by Sgt. Ed Wilson on Vine Street, Willis was lodged in the Putnam County Jail.

One summons into court was issued recently by City Police officers.

• At 1:25 a.m. Sunday, William Drake, 27, Greencastle, was cited by Sgt. Eric Vaughan.

Stopped by Sgt. Vaughan on Indianapolis Road, Drake was issued a summons into court to answer a charge of possession of marijuana.

One recent traffic citation was issued by Greencastle Police.

•At 2:01 p.m. on Friday, Tiffany Scales, 33, Greencastle, was ticketed by Officer Nick Eastham.

Scales was pulled over on Martinsville Street for disregarding a traffic control device.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to three recent dispatches:

•At 1:52 p.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched again to 330 Greenwood Ave. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 1:58 and found no source of fire. They then reset the alarm.

They left the scene at 2:15 p.m.

•At 4:20 p.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to 13 Putnam Plaza for a chemical spill. Units arrived at 4:29 and found a small antifreeze leak. Oil dry was then used to soak up the material.

They left at 4:44 p.m.

•At 3:31 a.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to 1014 Shadowlawn Ave. for a report of smoke odor. Firefighters arrived at 3:39 and found that smoke collected in the home’s garage was due to the owner’s boat having electrical problems. There was no fire.

They left at 3:56 a.m.

Additionally, GFD performed seven medical assists around this time.
