Backpackin' to School

Hundreds of Putnam County schoolchildren and their families came out to interact with first-responders and community leaders, as well as get some free school supplies, during National Night Out at Robe-Ann Park Thursday evening. Greencastle Fire Department fire inspector Christy Miller (right) helps one youngster pick out a backpack with his favorite color. All of the supplies, in addition to the night’s activities and food, was provided at no cost by the 30 local organizations and businesses participating in the event.
