U.S. 231 repairs and resurfacing to begin Friday

SPENCER — Indiana Department of Transportation’s repair and resurfacing project along of U.S. 231 in Owen County between Spencer and State Road 67 East is scheduled to begin Friday, Aug. 17 when contracted crews begin making pavement repairs.

Asphalt resurfacing operations are tentatively slated to start the following Monday, Aug. 20.

Flaggers will direct motorists around changing worksites during the $1,177,159 project.

Project limits extend from the pavement break just north of the signal at the Spencer McDonald’s to a pavement break north of the SR 67 East “T” at the service station at Southard Road.

Milestone is INDOT’s contractor for refurbishing the 5.4 miles of U.S. 231 pavement north of Spencer.

Traffic count in this section of north-south highway is 8,680 vehicles per day.

  • I hope Milestone does a better job finishing their project than Wabash Vallley Asphalt has done with theirs! When will they finish the striping???
