County Jail

Six people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently

Tuesday

• At 2:33 a.m. Danny Joe Heidrick, 30, Spencer, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 1:28 a.m. William Leonard Matthews, 38, Reelsville, was booked in for invasion of privacy.

Monday

• At 9:40 p.m. Raymond Douglas Gray, 26, Poland, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 3:19 p.m. Linda Sue Leary, 76, Greenfield, was taken into custody on a local warrant.

• At 11:43 a.m. Mary Elizabeth Burchett, 49, Cloverdale, was housed at the jail for domestic battery and intimidation.

• At 11:03 a.m. Charlotte Lynn Ladigo, 42, Lebanon, was booked in for theft.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property-damage crash.

• At 10:02 a.m. on Monday, Sheryle D. Cash, 68, Greencastle, was pulling onto eastbound U.S. 40 near the Hendricks County Line from County Road 200 South in a 2014 Fiat 50L. William M. Strahm, 49, Bloomington, was eastbound in the right lane of U.S. 40 in a 2005 Kenworth T600 pulling a trailer, both of which were registered to Landstar Ranger.

Cash told Lt. Donnie Pettit she did not see the tractor-trailer and pulled into the eastbound lanes, hitting the driver’s side rear tire area of the trailer.

Strahm could not avoid the collision. Pettit estimated damage at $2,500-$5,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to eight recent dispatches:

•At 8:18 p.m. last Wednesday, GFD was dispatched to 107 W. Hanna St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 8:21 and found that the alarm was set off due to incense. The alarm was then reset.

They left the scene at 8:29 p.m.

•At 8:16 a.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to North Arlington Street for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Units arrived at 8:22 and assisted the injured and cleaned up debris.

They cleared the scene at 8:56 a.m.

•At 8:31 a.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to North 10th Street for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 8:39 and found no fire at the residence. The alarm was then reset.

They left at 8:50 a.m.

•At 12:01 p.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to 1010 Indianapolis Rd. for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Units arrived at 12:04 p.m. and swept debris from the roadway.

They cleared the scene at 12:10 p.m.

•At 6:14 p.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to Tractor Supply Company for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 6:20 and found that the alarm was due to an unintentional smoke alarm due to continuing cleanup from the previous fire.

They left the scene at 6:27 p.m.

•At 5:35 a.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on Manhattan Road. Units arrived at 5:45 and helped the victim with the injuries.

They cleared the scene at 6:06 a.m.

•At 1:58 a.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to 107 S. Spring St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 2:02 and found that it was a false alarm due to cooking. They then reset the alarm.

They left the scene at 2:10 a.m.

•At 11:43 a.m on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to 451 E. Ridgeland Rd. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 11:51 and found that it was a false alarm. The alarm was then reset.

They left the scene at 12:19 p.m.

Additionally, GFD performed nine medical assists and had two disregards during this time.
