County Jail

Six people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Tuesday

• At 5:18 a.m. Antwan Jermaine Hall, 29, Indianapolis, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 12:27 a.m. Krystal Lee McFadden-Smith, 31, Fillmore, was booked in on a local warrant.

Monday

• At 10:42 p.m. Jacob Matthew Miller, 35, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.

• At 11:42 a.m. Judith Ann Ferguson, 40, St. Charles, Mo., was taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine.

• At 10:04 a.m. Cierra Shanice Smith, 28, Cincinnati, was housed at the jail for possession of marijuana.

• At 10:01 a.m. Brian Patrick Ervin, 38, Cincinnati, was booked in for dealing in marijuana and possession of marijuana.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property-damage crash.

• At 2:53 p.m. on Friday, Joshua C. Pietraszewski, 18, White Lake, Mich., was westbound, rounding a curve on Heritage Drive in a 2006 Honda Accord.

Pietraszewski told Lt. Donnie Pettit he lost control of the car due to wet pavement and ran off the right side of the road, hitting several small trees.

Pettit estimated damage at $2,500-$5,000. The car was towed.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to 12 recent dispatches:

• Two dispatches were sent to 10 W. Hanna St.:

• At 3:58 p.m. on Friday, GFD was sent due to a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 4:02 p.m. and found that a broken water line had leaked water into the detector head. The alarm could not be reset. They left at 4:13 p.m.

• At 8:44 a.m. on Saturday, GFD was sent again for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 8:48 and found that the water line issue had not been resolved. The alarm could not be reset. They left at 9:12 a.m.

• At 2:56 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to 304 S. Indiana St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 2:59 and found that water was leaking into the detector head. The alarm could not be reset. They left at 3:10 p.m.

• At 3:38 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to 402 E. Anderson St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 3:41 p.m. and did not find any fire. The alarm was then reset. They left at 3:50 p.m.

• At 4:28 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to 110 E. Larrabee St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 4:30 and found that a detector head was not attached to a ceiling. No further action was taken. They left at 4:44 p.m.

• At 4:42 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to 1750 Indianapolis Rd. for a gasoline spill. Units arrived at 4:50 and found that a semi tanker was leaking gas. Floor dry was used to dry up the roadway, and leak stop putty was applied to the tank. They cleared the scene at 5:10 p.m.

• At 10:29 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was dispatched to 904 S. College Ave. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 10:34 and did not find a fire. The alarm was then reset. They left at 10:38 p.m.

• At 11:00 a.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to 101 E. Hanna St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 11:03 and found that the alarm was activated due to cooking. The alarm was then reset. They left at 11:24 a.m.

• At 12:37 p.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to Tractor Supply Company for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 12:47 and determined that the alarm had malfunctioned. It was then reset. They left at 12:58 p.m.

• Two dispatches were sent to 105 W. Hanna St. on Monday:

• At 4:41 p.m., GFD responded to a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 4:44, but the cause of the activiation could not be determined. The alarm was then reset.They left at 4:51 p.m.

• At 9:29 p.m., GFD responded to another fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 9:32 and determined that the alarm had been activated by steam from a shower. The alarm was then cleaned and reset.They left at 9:39 p.m.

• At 7:27 p.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to 904 S. College Ave. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 7:31 and no cause could be determined. The alarm was then reset. They left at 7:39 p.m.

Additionally, GFD performed 10 medical assists during this time.
