Eagles continue to get votes; upset gets Cascade into top 10

South Putnam received votes in the Associated Press high school football rankings for the second straight week.

The Eagles received four voting points after their 6-0 win over Cloverdale and stand in a tie with Triton for 22nd place in Class A.

Cascade, which upset Hendricks County rival Danville 28-21 to christen its new artificial playing surface, received 22 points to rank 10th in Class 2A.

Northview is the only other West Central Conference team in the rankings, moving up to 12th after beating Terre Haute North 35-26 on Friday.

Evansville Central, led by former South Putnam coach Troy Burgess, received one first-place vote in Class 4A and is ninth this week. The Bears won 42-0 at Greenfield-Central last week.
