Cloverdale (0-1) at Greencastle (1-0)

The coaches: Tom Winders is in his second year at Cloverdale. Mike Meyer is in his ninth year at Greencastle.

On the airwaves: WREB-FM 94.3 will broadcast the game.

So far: Both teams were involved in shutouts last week, as Cloverdale lost 6-0 to South Putnam last week and Greencastle defeated Crawfordsville 9-0.

History: Greencastle won 21-13 last year and has won 24 of the past 32 meetings.

WIC impact: This is a non-conference game. League play begins next week.

Key players: Logan Abner led Cloverdale with 53 yards rushing last week. Trevor Woods and Caydhan Stevens each had 13 tackles, while Jake Wilkes had two sacks. Woods recovered a fumble.

Damon Moody led Greencastle with 142 yards rushing last week, while Gavin Bollman scored the only touchdown and Hector Lezama added a field goal. Bollman and Trever Wood each had 10 tackles to lead the defense, while Bollman had two sacks. Alex Costin had two interceptions.

John Harrell prediction: Greencastle 14, Cloverdale 0.

North Putnam (1-0) at Southmont (0-1)

The coaches: Sam Carnes is in his second year at North Putnam. Desson Hannum is in his 12th year at Southmont.

On the airwaves: WGRE-FM 91.5 will broadcast the game.

So far: North Putnam defeated North Montgomery 28-12 last week, while Southmont lost 13-7 to Class A No. 4-ranked Fountain Central.

History: Southmont won 49-27 last year. North Putnam holds a 17-14 series lead over the past 30 years.

Key players: Chris Murray led North Putnam with 154 yards rushing last week and scored one touchdown. Quarterback Evan Davies passed for 34 yards and ran for 76 yards and two touchdowns. Kalib Lawrence and Dylan Arnold each recovered a fumble for the Cougars, while Skyler Warren had a blocked punt.

Southmont senior quarterback Hunter Chadwick passed for 52 yards last week, while senior running back Logan Smith rushed for 34 yards and his team’s only touchdown.

John Harrell prediction: Southmont 21, North Putnam 14.

No. 22 South Putnam (1-0) at Owen Valley (0-1)

The coaches: Nathan Aker is in his fifth year at South Putnam. Duane Potts is in his 17th year at Owen Valley.

So far: South Putnam defeated county rival Cloverdale 6-0, while Owen Valley lost 44-11 to Vincennes Lincoln.

History: Owen Valley won 24-21 last year, and holds a 15-13 advantage over the past 30 years.

WIC impact: This is a non-conference game. League play begins next week.

Key players: Dalton Scott rushed for 67 yards last week to lead the Eagles, scoring his team’s only touchdown. Devin Cashion led South with 11 tackles, while Hayden Switzer had an interception and a fumble recovery.

The Patriots only managed 106 yards of offense against Vincennes Lincoln last week. Sophomore Glen Hinshaw scored the team’s only touchdown, while senior Carter Lacoursiere had a field goal and sophomore Anthony Ramsey had a two-point conversion.

John Harrell prediction: Owen Valley 24, South Putnam 10.
