Carlton 'Pete' Elam

Carlton "Pete" Elam 67, of Greencastle, passed away on Friday, Aug. 24, 2018.

He was born Aug. 21, 1951 in Middletown, Ohio.

Carl is survived by his wife, Theresa Elam; son, Kellen (Jaquelin) Elam; daughters, Erin Elam, Kasey Elam and Kerrie Elam; his grandchildren, Nathan Simmons, Lauren Elam, Carly Simmons and Addilynn Simmons; sisters, Marsha Langnehs, Sheilia Wells and Melissa (Rick) Adams; and stepmother, Mary (Bill) Wheaton.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Kay Lloyd; father, Raymond Elam; and brother, Sam Elam.

Carl was an Army veteran, serving in Vietnam and later as a guard at the Berlin Wall, among many other posts.

He was mostly a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His love will be with us always.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
