CLOVERDALE -- Competing in the 2018 ISSMA Summer Showcase on Aug. 18, the Cloverdale Emerald Command received a Gold Rating for its first performance of the season along with feedback and a giant trophy for the band’s efforts.

Titled “Toxic Attraction,” the 2018 show includes original rock music as well as “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” made famous by Elvis.

Persons interested in seeing the Cloverdale band perform can see the Emerald Command in action during halftime of the Clovers’ home football game on Oct. 5, as well as at Lawrence Central High School on Sept. 15, at Center Grove High School on Oct. 6 and in Evansville at regional competition.

“Thank you to the school and the entire community for supporting this hard-working group,” band director Jared M. Metzger said.

The band is under the direction of Metzger and drum majors Ethan Stattner, Angel Smith, Markus Pries and Gracie Heck.

The guard captains are Dashanta Allen and Sabrina Workman.
