Sheriff’s Department

• At 10:59 p.m. on Tuesday, deputies were dispatched to County Road 275 East and County Road 100 North for a single-vehicle accident.

Deputy Anthony Brown reported finding a 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo apparently driven by Roland G. Lottman, 55, Indianapolis, 19 yards off the road, north of 100 North.

Lottman said he was not the driver and refused implied consent to blood-alcohol testing.

Lottman was taken to the Putnam County Jail and booked in on charges of driving as a habitual traffic violator and driving while intoxicated.

The vehicle, which is registered to Tamara Danahar of Lottman’s address, was towed from the scene.

Damage was estimated at $5,000-$10,000.

• At around 10 p.m. on Sunday, Joseph Farmer, 18, Cloverdale, was traveling on County Road 500 East near County Road 325 South in a 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier.

Farmer told Deputy Tanner Brown a dog ran out in front of him and he swerved to miss it. The car then ran off the road, drove into some rip rap and bounced back on the road.

The accident was not initially reported, with a police officer actually finding the car abandoned in the road.

Farmer later showed up to the scene and admitted to having a wreck. He said that after the crash the vehicle was then being pulled by another vehicle when the straps broke. He said he had left to get better straps to pull it.

Farmer had injuries but said he was fine. He was, however, taken to the hospital by law enforcement to be evaluated. He was medically cleared.

Brown took Farmer into custody on charges of leaving the scene of a property-damage accident and violation of a court order.

Damage was estimated at $5,000-$10,000. The car was towed.
