Crystal Fern Woods, 91, of Fillmore, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Crystal was born in Fillmore on Aug. 10, 1927, the daughter of Carl and Gladys M. (Terry) Phillips.

She was a 1945 graduate of Fillmore High School.

Mrs. Woods worked for many years with Marsh Supermarket and Angwell Curtain Factory She also was a cook at Fillmore High School. Crystal was in food service for many years, and was an excellent cook.

She enjoyed cross-stitch, gardening and reading. She also loved a good euchre game.

She was a member of Fillmore Christian Church, and was also a 58-year member of Club 16.

Survivors include four children, Richard Woods, Plainfield, Eddie Woods (wife Barbara), Greencastle, Janet Miles (husband Bill), Fillmore, and Judy Clifford (husband Lannie), Cloverdale; three sisters, Coleen Nichols, Colorado, Luella Jackson (husband Richard "Tink"), Greencastle, and Beulah Corbin, Greencastle; a sister-in-law, Middy Phillips; 10 grandchildren, Tyson Woods (wife Nicky), Ryan Woods, Melinda Shrout (husband David), Jodie Clodfelter, Kerry Miles (companion Lynette), Kurt Miles (wife Sara), Kristie Bumgardner (husband Tony), Kimberly Cunningham (husband Jeff), Lana Robinson (husband Shadd) and Jason Clifford (wife Lauren); and 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a family friend of more than 70 years, Mary Cash; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 68 years, William H. Woods; a brother, Charles Phillips; two brothers-in-law; and two nephews.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Pastor Mike Faust officiating. Burial will follow in Fillmore Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday.
