INDIANAPOLIS —The University of Indianapolis men’s cross country team began its season on Friday night at the Butler Twilight.

South Putnam sophomore Kieffer Vittetow’s seventh-place showing was best among the UIndy men.

“I am proud of both teams,” cross country head coach Brad Robinson said after the meet. “The entire team is stronger than we were last year at this point in the season.”

The men placed third in the field of seven, with Vittetow placing sixth among qualifiers who competed with a school. He crossed the line in 19:20.9, as the men nearly beat IUPUI as a team.
