Putnamville Correctional Facility officers and Hancock County authorities arrest Linda Leary, 76, Greenfield, for allegedly trafficking with an offender at the facility.

PUTNAMVILLE -- Putnamville Correctional Facility (PCF) authorities have confirmed the recent arrest of Linda Leary, 76, Greenfield, for allegedly trafficking with an offender at the facility.

The arrest was made after the Office of Investigations and Intelligence (OII) acquired intelligence that Leary had trafficked with a PCF offender who is reportedly her grandson.

PCF correctional officers were assisted by the Hancock County Sheriff's Office in executing an arrest warrant at her Greenfield area residence.

Leary was placed under arrest without incident and transported to the Putnam County Jail.

She is charged with trafficking with an inmate (Level 5 felony) and dealing a schedule III controlled substance (Level 6 felony).

"This is an example of exceptional police work by our OII team, correctional police officers and local law enforcement," PCF Warden Brian Smith praised, calling it "a job well done."
