Association for Practical and Professional Ethics names new executive director

Friday, September 14, 2018

Patti A. Stauffer, MS, has been appointed executive director of the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics (APPE), a non-profit membership organization founded in 1991 and dedicated to advancing scholarship, education, and practice in practical and professional ethics.

Stauffer brings 25 years of leadership in the non-profit sector, most recently serving as vice president for policy, strategy and compliance for a multi-state, non-profit health care organization. Her experience with organizational management, community-based research and fund development will be an asset for growing APPE’s impact.

“The APPE Executive Board is thrilled to have Patti join our team,” said Gretchen Winter, who chairs APPE’s governing board. “As applied and professional ethics issues fill our news feeds each day, Patti will provide the strong leadership necessary to ensure that APPE’s work and purpose are broadly relevant and meaningful.”

As APPE’s third executive director, Ms. Stauffer will lead an organization poised to grow and realize its full potential. In 2017, APPE partnered with The Janet Prindle Institute for Ethics at DePauw University, where APPE maintains its office headquarters. Stauffer began her appointment July 1.
