Dental Care of Greencastle not hosting free dental day

Thursday, September 20, 2018

Contrary to a news release sent out last week, Dental Care of Greencastle will not be hosting a day of free dental services on Saturday, Sept. 29.

The release, sent by Heartland Dental of Effingham, Ill., stated that Dr. John Wadas and his team would be helping improve the oral health of the community as part of Free Dentistry Day, a program dedicated to providing free dental care to the growing number of Americans without dental insurance.

The report was printed in the Tuesday, Sept. 18 edition of the Banner Graphic.

However, a representative of the Greencastle office contacted the newspaper Wednesday afternoon, saying they are not taking part in the event. She indicated that the original release did not come from the local office.

  • Or maybe they should not, as welfare tends to perpetuate the cycle of poverty.
