TRAFALGAR — Friday night, the Cloverdale Clovers traveled east to meet the Indian Creek Braves.

It was a cool evening, after an afternoon that saw thunderstorms and temps in the low 80s.

The Braves are a well-practiced team with a large roster of approximately 80 players.

In the first quarter it looked as though the Clovers had the opportunities to advance the ball, however, penalties and a fumble kept them out of the end zone.

The Braves took advantage of the turnover, and in four plays, scored the game’s first score to go up 6-0 before missing a two-point conversion.

Indian Creek went on to score again, and capture a two-point conversion, to bring the first quarter to an end with a 14-0 lead.

The second quarter also belonged to the Braves. The Clovers fought to hold them back, but Indian Creek scored 27 points with four touchdowns, a two-point conversion and an extra point. At halftime, the score was Braves 41, Clovers 0.

The third quarter, to the relief of the Cloverdale fans, the Clovers held off the Braves.

However, neither team was able to come close to the red zone of the other.

In the fourth, the Clovers once again held off the Braves, while unable to gain any significant yardage.

In the last five minutes of the game, both teams sent in their JV players to finish the game, and the crowd cheered them on.
