Tap House 24 to reopen under new management

Monday, October 8, 2018

Tap House 24 officials may have posted on social media this weekend that Sunday, Oct. 21 would be the Greencastle restaurant’s last day of operations, but according to reports, by no means does that mean the end of the local bar.

Well-placed reports indicate that yes, Tap House 24 will close on Oct. 21 -- but only for three weeks or more, during which time a new management group is expected to take over, reportedly with a streamlined new menu and new furniture.

From all indications, the management group that runs Bridges Craft Pizza & Wine Bar in Greencastle will reportedly take over operations of Tap House 24. However, no contract has yet been signed, a source told the Banner Graphic.

Phone calls and emails to Damion Wallace of Bridges Management Group and Ashley Dora, vice president for Dora Hotels -- the current operator for Tap House 24 -- have gone unreturned since Friday.

Tap House officials ended their social media post by saying, “We would like to thank everyone who has supported us in this wonderful journey. Thank you for the laughs, friendship and many beers you have shared with us.

“We would also like to thank our wonderful staff who have put their heart and soul into this restaurant,” the post continues. “Tap House will always be remembered as the fun-loving place to go for a good beer and even better company.”

The restaurant will host a block party on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 6-10 p.m. with live music from local bands and drink and food specials all day.

Tap House 24 opened it doors on Aug. 8, 2016 at the corner of Indiana and Walnut streets in the old Horace Link Furniture/Video Heaven building.

With 24 craft beers on tap at 24 S. Indiana St., the aptly-named Tap 24 set out to bring people to Greencastle from all around Indiana “to experience the revitalization of the downtown area.”

With a contemporary storefront and industrialized design “celebrating humble materials,” Tap House 24 has featured exposed brick, reclaimed wood and the added attraction of garage-door windows to allow the outdoors to blend with the interior during the warmer months.

It remains uncertain how much of that interior will be redone or redesigned.

  • I do hope the new owners will keep this animal free. I don't like eating with a dog next to me with it's nose on the table!!
