Carol Sue McGaughey

Carol Sue McGaughey, 72, of Greencastle passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018, at Kindred Hospital in Indianapolis.

Carol was born in Crawfordsville on Aug. 28, 1946, the daughter of Lawrence and Mary (Rusk) McGaughey.

She was a graduate of Greencastle High School.

She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed reading.

Survivors include two sons, Larry McGaughey (wife Gina), Indianapolis, and John McGaughey (wife Jenni), Greencastle; a niece "daughter," Amanda Manley; two brothers, Kim McGaughey and Mark McGaughey (wife Tina); two sisters, Connie McGaughey and Angie Lafferty; five grandchildren; Johnathan McGaughey (wife Alyssa), Joshua McGaughey, Jordann McGaughey, Josie McGaughey and Owen McGaughey; a great-grandson, Aiden Frazee; three great-nieces, Justice, Braylie and Alona; a great-nephew, Zayden; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 55 years, Ronald Pettit.

A celebration of life service will be held 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Bobbie Lancaster officiating. Friends may gather at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, one hour prior to time of service. Afterward the family would like to invite everyone to Greencastle Christian Church for a time of fellowship.
