James Oscar Clearwaters

James Oscar Clearwaters, 95, of Mooresville, formerly of Fillmore, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018.

He was born July 10, 1923 in Greencastle, the son of Cola and Jessie Bernice (Buis) Clearwaters.

James was a truck driver with Refiners Freight and owned and operated Clearwaters Garden Shop with his wife, Reba, for several years.

He was a member of the American Legion and the Teamsters Union.

He is survived by his children, Jerry (wife Linda) Clearwaters and Cindy Whitley; a sister, Betty Cooper; grandchildren, Mitzi Whitley and Faith (husband Richard) Coe; and a great-grandson, Deven Coe.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Reba (Nelson) Clearwaters; a son, Mark Clearwaters, and grandson, Mike Ewbanks.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle. Interment with military honors will follow at the Little Walnut Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. on Saturday until time of service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory to the American Heart Association.
