Bobby Ray Broadstreet, 86, of Stilesville, gained his wings on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018, after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Fillmore on Jan. 9, 1932 to Harold and Juanita Broadstreet.

Bob married Laura Alice Nichols on Sept. 26, 1952.

He was preceded in death by both parents; his sisters, Marjorie Broadstreet, Patricia Skinner and Janet Springer; and brothers Maurice and Marvin Broadstreet.

He is survived by his wife, Laura, of Stilesville; three daughters, Vicki (Bob) Sutherlin, of Fillmore, Pam Hayden, of Gladewater, Texas, and Kathy Hayden, of Greencastle; five grandchildren, Matthew, Stacy, Laura Jo, Lindsey and Dustin; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters Betty (Chuck) Collins of McCordsville, Peggy Kelly of Avon, Carolyn (Steve) Harold of Mt Vernon, Wash., Sharon (Leonard) Barker of Converse, Ind., and Linda (Steve) Davis of Satellite Beach, Fla., and brother Jerry (Donna) Broadstreet of Fillmore. He also has numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob served his country in the United States Army before becoming a self-employed barber. He also worked at the Indiana Youth Center and retired from there. He was a strong, Christian man who was always behind the camera. He was greatly passionate about his dogs and raccoon and squirrel hunting.

Bob taught Sunday School at Stilesville Baptist Church for several years and he served as town marshal of Stilesville.

He always made sure to take his family on an annual vacation.

The family will receive visitors at Coatesville Funeral Home (www.bousleyfuneralhome.com) on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Services are Friday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Karen Buckley officiating. He will be laid to rest at Stilesville Cemetery following services.
