County Jail

One person was booked in the Putnam County Jail on Tuesday.

• At 1:35 a.m. Kallie Annette Pruitt, 25, Greencastle, was booked in on a local warrant.

Sheriff’s Department

Putnam County sheriff’s deputies investigated one recent property-damage crash.

• At 3:33 p.m. on Monday, Elijsh R. Warner, 16, Greencastle, was southbound on County Road 200 East in Bainbridge in a 2006 Ford Focus. Bainbridge Police Officer James E. Seipel, 26, Greencastle, was ahead of Warner in a 2012 Dodge Charger police cruiser registered to the Town of Bainbridge.

Seipel told Deputy Randy Patrick he was stopped in traffic when Warner rear-ended him.

Damage to Warner’s car was extensive enough to require a tow.

Patrick estimated damage at $2,500-$5,000.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to three recent dispatches:

• At 4:05 p.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to 208 E. Olive St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 4:08 and determined the alarm was set off by burnt popcorn. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 4:12 p.m.

• At 5:05 p.m. on Monday, GFD was dispatched to 414 S. Indiana St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 5:08 and determined that the alarm was due to burning candles. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 5:11 p.m.

• At 7:05 a.m. on Tuesday, GFD was alerted to a good intent call for a strange odor on Ohio Street. Units arrived on the scene at 7:14 but could not determine a cause for the smell. GFD went back into service at 7:22 a.m.
