Foundation concludes first phase of director search

The Putnam County Community Foundation is marching forward in its search for a new director after completing a series of focus groups concerning the issue.

These focus groups, conducted over the last 30 days, consisted of grantees, not-for-profit organizations, past presidents, honorary board member and community leaders to survey the thoughts of the community in the search for a new executive director.

On Thursday, incoming 2019 President Phil Gick, who is also chairman of the search committee, announced the Putnam County Community Foundation is seeking a strong leader to fill the executive director’s role and to be responsible for the administration and management of the Foundation’s strategic planning, programs, business operations and fundraising.

“I want to express my deep appreciation to the community members and the members of the search committee who took time to participate in the community survey portion of our search,” Gick said. “The next phase of the search committee will begin once the applicant pool is determined.”

PCCF is searching for a new director to replace longtime Director Elaine Peck, who has led the foundation for 17 years before announcing in September she was stepping away to pursue a new chapter in her life.

In the meantime, Ruthie Purcell-Jones, most recently of the Central Indiana Community Foundation, has been serving as interim executive director.

Detailed information on the position is available at www.indeed.com.
