Herschell Edwin Asher

Herschell Edwin Asher, 90 of Roachdale, passed away Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018 surrounded by his family at the home of his daughter in Fincastle.

He was born March 18, 1928 in Brownsburg to Byron and Nina Asher. He was raised on the family farm just outside of Roachdale. H

erschell married Frances Bernice Tuttle December 24, 1945. They started their family in Fincastle where Herschell was a truck driver, a farmer, and the owner of Asher's Café in Roachdale.

He was also a member of the Roachdale Volunteer Fire Department.

They had five children all who survive, Tony Asher, Connie (Jim) Spear, Kathy (James) Bonifacius and Steven Asher, all of Roachdale, and Cindy Asher of Danville; 14 grandchildren, Greg, Amber, Coreen, Brian, Tammy, Tresa, Travis, Treva, Natalie, Stacy, Shane, Steven, Mary Jo and Amanda; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Herschell was preceded in death by his wife Frances, and his sisters Helen Sullivan and Marilyn Wagoner. He is survived by his sister Patricia Asher Cline (Mrs. Donald Harney) of Ladoga and sister-in-law Carmaleeta Tuttle of Gosport, many nieces and nephews and his good friend, Martha Clift at the Hearth at Prestwick in Avon.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018 at Roachdale Cemetery, Roachdale, with Pastor Alan Hughes officiating. Memorials may be given to Roachdale Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 262, Roachdale, IN 46172.
