We're Lit

Tuesday, November 20, 2018
The holiday season took another step forward Tuesday evening as the Putnam County Courthouse lights came on, illuminating the downtown in advance of both Thanksgiving and Christmas and a special Dec. 1 First Friday event. That’s when Santa Claus will arrive and visit the courthouse from 5-7 p.m. while decorated trolley wagons roam the downtown until 8 p.m. Persons and businesses who would like to help with the Dec. 1 holiday program can contact Jenny Sullivan at Eitel’s & Co. Florist (653-1565 or 720-7967).

  • It's a shame the County and City can't work together and drape the lights from the courthouse over the streets to other buildings like they used to. City, lets see you put up lights and highlight the downtown. Make our City look really festive again!!

  • I have to admit, I am always disappointed in Greencastle's décor around the Court House. You go to other towns nearby and they are very impressive (Danville being the best). I think the town of Greencastle needs to kick up a few notches considering we are the heart of Putnam County! Those strings of lights are embarrassing, and a lot of them are burnt out or they blink... time for an upgrade!
