Clovers see huge youth wrestling turnout

The Cloverdale youth wrestling program wrapped up its season on Nov. 15 with its annual youth wrestling tournament.

This fall, 80 wrestlers grades K-5 battled on the mat for team and individual championships from mid-October to mid- November.

The program was moved up several weeks from the past few years.

“The program was a huge success and Cloverdale youth wrestling would like to thank our sponsors, parents, wrestlers, and coaches for their support and dedication to making Cloverdale wrestling a great program for the entire community,” Cloverdale varsity coach Chris Kaufman said. “Watch for registration and information in September 2019 for next year’s season.”

This year’s teams finished in the following order:

1. Dental Care of Greencastle (gray), coached by Kaufman

2. Endeavor Communications (black), coached by Brian Siddons

3. Carroll Contruction (orange), coached by Dustin Shannon

4. Sanders Contracting (yellow), coached by Todd Rightmyer

Individual champions (listed in weight class order) were Anthon Harrison, Ezekiel Frye, Mayson Barnes, Jaxon Brown, Wyatt Flory, Lane Hipps, Levi Keesee, Evan Mann, Zane Siddons, Nick Shepherd, Ashton Evans, Desmond Pyles, Jude Kaufman, Harrison Tyler, T.J. Hamilton, Tyler Sandusky, Ethan Shannon, Colby Gibson and Hunter Gibson
