All-Putnam County volleyball team: Combs wins top player award

Cloverdale’s Tori Combs established herself as one of the top hitters in the Western Indiana Conference this year, and the senior was named as Putnam County’s volleyball Player of the Year.

Combs, who will play volleyball and basketball at Lincoln Trail College, helped the Clovers to a 20-10 record and runnerup finishes in the WIC, Putnam County tourney and the sectional.

Combs had a team-high 388 kills and also led the team with 127 blocks. She also added 85 digs, 32 service aces and 124 serving points.

She was named second-team all-state by the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association, and was also named to the all-WIC team.

The 11-player team consists of five seniors, three juniors, two sophomores and one freshman member to provide a bright future for Putnam County volleyball with six returning all-county players.

Other members of the all-county team are:

• Jada Amis, Sr., Greencastle – Was third on team in kills with 204, while also adding 36 blocks and 10 digs as the Tiger Cubs won the sectional and county titles, while placing third in the WIC.

Was named second-team academic all-state by the ICGSA.

• Chloe Custis, So., South Putnam – Led the team in aces with 20, in points with 89 and in assists with 144. Also added 94 kills and 126 digs in 23 matches.

Was also named to the all-WIC team.

• Jalyn Duff, Sr., Greencastle – Led team with 629 assists as the setter, while also adding 41 kills, 33 service aces, 13 blocks and 275 digs.

Was also named to the all-WIC team.

• Brionna Egold, So., South Putnam – Was second on the team in blocks with 15 and in digs with 132. Also had eight service aces, 58 service points, 53 kills and 11 assists.

• Bradi Gierke, Jr., North Putnam – Helped lead the Cougars to a 14-11 record with 239 kills, 55 service aces, 17 blocks, 140 digs and five assists.

Was also named to the all-WIC team.

• Hannah Rady, Sr., Cloverdale – Led the team with 810 assists as the setter, while also adding 32 kills, 66 service aces, 281 serving points and 156 digs.

She was earlier named to the all-WIC team and was named first-team academic all-state by the ICGSA.

• Allison Stevens, Jr., Greencastle – Led team with 315 kills, while adding 38 service aces, 67 blocks, 41 digs and six assists.

Was also named to the all-WIC team.

• Kenzie Stoltz, Jr., Cloverdale – Was second on the team with 275 kills, while also adding 66 service aces, 155 service points, eight assists, 261 digs and 18 blocks.

She was named second-team all-state by the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association, and was also named to the all-WIC team.

• Kyla Willis, Fr., North Putnam – Led the team in digs with 375 as the libero, while adding 14 assists, 18 kills and 48 service aces.

Was also named to the all-WIC team.

• Mckenzie Woodall, Sr., Greencastle – Led team with 333 digs as the libero, while also adding three kills, 21 assists and 17 assists.
