Lots of loaves, no fishes

Every Thursday morning, volunteers like Kim Clodfelter (above), arranging an array of bread choices, help dispense food to Putnam County residents in need at the New Life Baptist Church Food Pantry on Ridgeway Street in Greencastle.

Steve Albin, meanwhile, helps fill grocery sacks with canned goods and more from the pantry, which is open every Thursday from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The church gets its food through Gleaners and local donations as well as buying necessities to supply the pantry. New Life will also host a Christmas Breakfast for Putnam County residents at the church on Thursday, Dec. 13 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. before that day’s food giveaway. More information on that event will be announced next week.
