CLOVERDALE – You see claims everywhere for freaky fast or blazing fast Internet speeds. Are they really? Yes, some are lightning fast.

Cloverdale now owns legitimate bragging rights to claim it is a nationally ranked Top 100 fiber Internet city in the nation, or more specifically the 55th fastest.

Broadband Now, an independent ranking agency, has its current November findings posted for all to see at broadbandnow.com.

“I wish we could get everything in town to work this fast,” Renea Cambron, president of Cloverdale Main Street, said with a grin. “Fast Internet is the backbone of business, enterprise and education.”

The findings included more acclaim for local Internet service provider Endeavor Communications that covers nearly 94 percent of the area. Endeavor rose to the top ranks in multiple categories.

Endeavor ranked in the Top 5 for download speeds and Top 100 for (download and upload combined) averaged speeds. The familiar orange tubing that holds the fiber extends service underground throughout the town.

Endeavor Speed Geeks recommend getting the highest delivered speeds requires up-to-date technology. You won’t move as fast using a very old computer compared to a late model. Speed test checkers can be found on the Internet.

Testing your service is simple. You can view how a speed test works on Endeavor’s YouTube channel or at http://bit.ly/endeavorspeedtest.

“When you hear about ridiculously fast internet speeds from Endeavor, you now know that it is a validated fact not just a sales pitch,” Trip Nadzak, vice president of sales at Endeavor, said.

Endeavor is the highest percentage service provider in Cloverdale and thus contributes the most to the ranking result.

Endeavor Communications was founded in 1950 as a telephone provider to small towns and rural areas. Today, Endeavor provides high-speed internet, phone, wireless service, television, security systems, medical alert systems and IT services to approximately 9,000 customers in parts of Putnam, Owen, Hendricks, Morgan, Clay, Parke, Tipton and Hamilton counties.

  • Kudos to Endeavor. I have Frontier phone service, but they won't install fiber in rural areas. They're the worst.

Frontier has MAJOR problems... Random crawls of speeds (assuming it doesn't drop entirely), poor customer service that never seems to be speaking to the other hand (field techs), lackadaisical procedures that result in service charges you were told over and over again you wouldn't accrue, and their routers / services are about as secure as a piece of paper on a sidewalk that's about to be blown away by a hurricane... They are truly the worst. It's baffling they're even still in business.
