Allan Dale Scroggin

Allan Dale Scroggin, 73, Imlay City, Mich., went to be with the Lord on Nov. 28, 2018.

Allan was born on Nov. 19, 1945 to Phil and Hazel (Cline) Scroggin in Greencastle.

He graduated from Greencastle High School in 1965.

Allan served as a sergeant in the United States Air Force, serving two tours in Vietnam from 1965-68, and the Air Force Reserves from 1968-71.

Allan earned his Associates Degree in Metallurgy at Schoolcraft College.

He married Rita Jean Haas of Livonia, Mich., on Nov. 2, 1980 at The Lord's House in Livonia. Together they raised a family of five children.

He loved his family and raised them in a warm Christian home, he was a true "family man."

Allan was also known as a "jack of all trades." He worked as a journeyman of Sheet Metal Prototype Model Maker at Creative Industries. While employed there, he assisted with building the first 12 prototype Hummers under AM General for the U.S. military.

In Allan's later years prior to retirement, he was an instructor for the Machinist Program at Focus Hope Career Training Institute in Detroit.

Allan is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Rita Jean Scroggin; children Andrea (Gino) Baggio, Katie (Andrew) Gould, Allan (Nichole) Scroggin, Joseph Scroggin and Matthew Scroggin; grandchildren Elijah, Mercedes, Sophia, Jayms, Carter, Symphony, Avah and Adelyn; siblings the late Carlyle (Sharon Cox), Robert (Karen), Frank (Rebecca), Jaunita (Doug) Smith and Phyllis Scroggin.

Allan was preceded in death by his parents Phil and Hazel (Cline) Scroggin and his brother Carlyle.
