Barbara ‘Ruth’ Timm

Barbara “Ruth” Timm, 87, passed away Monday, Dec. 17, 2018 in Greencastle.

She was born in Alexandria on Feb. 16, 1931 to the late Arvel and Laura (Rucman) McConnaughey.

Ruth graduated from Alexandria High School in 1949 and in 1950 she married her husband of 57 years Ronald Timm.

She liked being outdoors and enjoyed camping and fishing. She was an avid reader and liked to travel when she was able. She enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Tri-County Home Extension Club and the Just in Tyme Herb Club. She adored her grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Timm; brothers James, Virgil, Art, Harold, Robert, Roy, Charles, Russell, William and Rex McConnaughey; and sisters May Strowbridge and Betty Hiatt.

Survivors include sons Steven (Barbara Fields) Timm and John (Marcia) Timm; daughters Vicki (Stephen Aker) Timm and Laura (Jeff) Parker; and grandchildren Zach Timm, Morgan Timm, Hannah Evans, Rachel Parker, Audrey Timm, Grace Aker, Jessica Emanuel, Calvin Timm and Ryan Parker; and six great-grandchildren

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday Dec. 21 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Rev. Dana Newhouse officiating and burial to follow at Sunset Memory Garden in Kokomo.

The family will accept friends for visitation on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Envelopes for donations to the Humane Society of Putnam County or The Joyce G. Christiansen Scholarship will be available at the funeral home. The Joyce G. Christiansen Scholarship shall provide educational financial support for a Communication and Theatre major during their junior and senior years attending DePauw University. Donations to Joyce G. Christiansen Fund in care of the Putnam County Community Foundation, 2 South Jackson Street, Greencastle, Indiana.
