Bowling makes top 10 in State Fair Queen contest

INDIANAPOLIS — Miss Putnam County Fair 2018 was chosen among the top 10 in the state on Sunday as 84 contestants vied for the title of 2019 Miss Indiana State Fair.

In making the cut down to 10 finalists, Miss Putnam County Raegan Bowling was in the last group of contestants before Miss Benton County Halle Shoults was crowned the 61st Indiana State Fair Queen.

Bowling, now a pre-med student at Butler University, is a 2016 graduate of North Putnam and 10-year 4-H member.

The daughter of Jim Bowling and Michele Long, Raegan showed swine for 10 years, beef cattle for six as well as two years each of cakes and photography.

The last previous Putnam County representative to make the finals was Brittany Birt in 2015.

The top 10 included:

Queen: Halle Shoults, Miss Benton County

1st Runner-Up: Maci French, Miss Boone County

2nd Runner-Up: Emily Yoder, Miss Elkhart County

3rd Runner-Up: Adrienne Rudolph, Miss Warrick County

4th Runner-Up: Jesse Mays, Miss Scott County

Janelle Mitzner, Miss LaPorte County

Lauren Ziliak, Miss Vanderburgh County

Sylvia Harris, Miss Tipton County
