WIC wrestling, swimming events both moved

Friday, January 18, 2019

The Western Indiana Conference has now moved both its wrestling and swimming championships, scheduled for Saturday, up a day to Friday due to concerns over a winter storm forecast this weekend.

The wrestling meet, originally scheduled for last Saturday at Edgewood, had been moved to Saturday but will now take place on Friday at 4 p.m.

Sectional competition begins on Jan. 26, necessitating the need to get the meet in sometime this week.

The swimming championships were originally scheduled for Saturday at the Wabash Valley Aquatic Center in Terre Haute, but will also be moved up a day with a 5 p.m. starting time.

In another weather-related schedule change, Greencastle’s scheduled boys’ basketball game at Edgewood that was postponed on Saturday will not be played since the teams will also play on Jan. 25 in the WIC championship.

Instead, the Tiger Cubs will host Class 4A powerhouse Bloomington South on Feb. 15.
