STEMing for Success

Friday, January 18, 2019
Central Elementary Principal Todd Gowen (right) is presented with a $500 check from Mobil Kwik-Mart owner Scott Stanton as students in Kimberly Cunningham and Tominda Hayes’ computer class look on. The check was awarded through the ExxonMobil Education Alliance Grant, and will go toward purchasing equipment to make the room a STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) lab. Central is one of more than 4,000 schools to receive the award. Located beside the library, the lab was originally part of the administrative office, which was moved during recent renovations. It is planned for both rooms to combine into a single space.
