Melvin Ray Talley

Melvin Ray Talley, 77, Greencastle, passed away Wednesday evening, Feb. 13, 2019 at Asbury Towers.

He was born in Greencastle on July 1, 1941, the son of Raymond Junior and Minnie Catherine Cook Talley.

He had worked as a supervisor at Bridgeport Brass for 28 years.

He was a member of the Coatesville United Church.

He was commander of the American Legion in Greencastle and Frostproof, Fla., and a member of the Color Guard in Greencastle.

He enjoyed woodworking and was a member of the IWCS club.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Daniel Talley; son Michael (Dorothy) Talley, Indianapolis; daughter Lori Morgan, Indianapolis; stepdaughter Bonnie (Keith) Hanlon, Port Charlotte, Fla.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother Earl Wayne (Pat) Talley, Ocala, Fla.; several nieces and nephews; and a cousin, Madonna (Steven) Stephens, New Whiteland.

He was preceded by his parents, son Kenny Ray Talley and brother Richard Talley.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18 at Bousley Funeral Home, Coatesville, with Pastor Danny Sanders officiating.

Friends may call on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until time of service.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Forest Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.

The family has requested that donations be made to the Coatesville United Methodist Church in lieu of flowers.
