Dine with a Doc program to feature Dr. Ahmed on Feb. 25 at PCH
Senior Education Ministries Inc. presents a Dine with a Doc program on the fourth Monday of every month from 10 a.m. to noon at Putnam County Hospital, 1542 Bloomington St., Greencastle.
Dine with a Doc is a free program that welcomes the local senior public to hear an educational topic while enjoying a complimentary lunch.
Dine with a Doc was designed to allow seniors to get out of their homes, fellowship with peers and educate them (from a preventative standpoint) with a goal of improving their quality of life and providing resources and information to make an informed choice about their healthcare.
This month the Feb. 25 program presents Dr. Sameer Z. Ahmed, a physician with Franciscan Physician Network, who joined the Putnam County Hospital Oncology Cancer Center in 2015. A question-and-answer period will follow his presentation.
Dr. Ahmed specializes in oncology and hematology and received his education from the Dow Medical College in Pakistan. He sees patients at PCH on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Ahmed completed his residency at Internal Medicine Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati and his fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis.
A complimentary lunch will be served courtesy of Mill Pond Health Campus.
Hickory Creek at Sunset will offer a complimentary wellness clinic (blood pressure screening).
Various health care providers will be present to share information about their services and provide door prizes.
