Colon Cancer Awareness Day open house at PCH

Tuesday, February 26, 2019

With more than 100,000 new cases each year and over one million cases total, colon cancer is the fourth most common type of cancer in the United States.

But with early detection of this disease, it is estimated that well over half of the deaths that occur annually could be prevented.

Thanks to National Colon Cancer Awareness Month in March, a much-needed spotlight is being cast on the importance of early detection.

On Friday, March 1, the Putnam County Cancer Center will host a Colon Cancer Awareness Day open house.

The PCH Cancer Center will offer free take-home stool test kits while supplies last, free giveaways, a drawing for a $50 gift card to Walmart, and an opportunity to schedule a colonoscopy, if you wish.

The community is invited to visit the Cancer Center, enjoy refreshments and ask any questions regarding colon cancer.

For additional questions persons may contact the Putnam County Cancer Center at 301-7510.
