County Jail

Three people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently:

Thursday

• At 12:53 a.m. Mac Anthony McCord, 38, Anderson, was lodged at the jail for criminal recklessness, carrying a handgun without a license, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

Wednesday

• At 8:54 a.m. Angel Sanchez Ramirez, 36, Denver, was taken into custody on a Whitley County warrant.

• At 4:07 a.m. Kobe Rashon Davis, 19, Greencastle, was booked in on a local warrant.

City Police

One recent summons was issued by Greencastle City Police officers:

• At 9:18 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22, William Draper, 27, Reelsville, was cited by Officer Kyle Lee.

Involved with a traffic stop for another matter, Draper fled on foot before being apprehended and issued a summons to appear in court for possession of marijuana.

Officer Lee also issued one recent citation.

• At 6:26 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14, Fred Vittatoe, 48, Greencastle, was ticketed on Franklin Street near Jackson Street.

Vittatoe was cited for a driving a vehicle with a false or fictitious plate and for being an operator never licensed.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to four recent dispatches:

• At 6:28 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to 414 S. Indiana St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 6:31 and determined that the alarm was due to cooking. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 6:37 p.m.

• At 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD was dispatched to 208 E. Olive St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 9:49 and determined that the alarm was due to smoke from a candle. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 9:54 p.m.

• At 6:54 p.m. on Wednesday, GFD was called to a brush fire report at 1550 W. County Road 25 S. Firefighters arrived at 7:01 p.m. but determined that it was a controlled burn. GFD went back into service at 7:25 p.m.

• At 2:11 a.m. on Thursday, GFD was dispatched to 311 S. Locust St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 2:16 and determined that the alarm was due to smoking. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 2:28 a.m.

Additionally, GFD performed three medical assists during this time.
