Opal Regina Ader

Opal Regina (Jean) Ader, 90, of Greencastle, went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 7, 2019.

She was born Oct. 9, 1928 in Indianapolis to the late Attilio and Gladys (Smyser) Benassi.

She graduated from Belle Union High School in 1947.

She married Willis W. Ader on Dec. 31, 1950, and he preceded her in death Aug. 2, 2015.

She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca (Arthur) Harris of Greencastle, and Nina (Robert) Morgan of Lafayette; son Jesse Verl Ader of Greencastle; grandchildren Jennifer Morgan of Carmel and Craig Morgan of Lafayette; step-grandchildren Christie (Joe) Leonard of Crawfordsville, Joshua (Elisa) Harris of Greencastle, and Mary Harris of Bloomington; six step great-grandchildren; sister Giacinda Krauthamer and brother Denzil Benassi.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Paul Benassi.

She was the head bookkeeper at First Citizens Bank and also worked as a bookkeeper at Montgomery Ward, Culligan and Greencastle Decorating. In later years she worked as a housekeeper at Delta Zeta Sorority and Alpha Phi Sorority at DePauw.

In later years she enjoyed realizing her artistic ability through art classes at the Senior Citizens Center in Greencastle.

She attended Hanna Street Baptist Church and had resided at Asbury Towers for the last three years.

She was a dedicated mother and grandmother to the very end.

Funeral services for Opal will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 13 at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the service time at 11 a.m. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday March 12 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Senior Citizens Center, Greencastle.
