Just ‘being Dave’ garners award for Dave’s Heating and Cooling

Don’t let anyone tell you that selling, installing and servicing heating and air conditioning units is easy work.

But being successful at such work? It’s a pretty simple formula for one Greencastle business owner — good customers, good products and good employees.

Dave’s Heating and Cooling was honored on Thursday by Carrier distributor Koch Air as its 2018 Dealer of the Year.

“It’s been pretty easy to be in business in Greencastle with all the good people,” Dave’s owner Dave Corbin said, “and thanks to Carrier’s innovative products. Also thanks to good employees.”

Dave’s had an excellent year in 2018, with sales of Carrier products up 56 percent compared to 2017.

Koch Air territory manager Mike Oisten had nothing but good things to say about Corbin and the business in presenting the award.

“In his tier, he blew everybody away, so I’d say the economy in this area is doing quite well,” Oisten said.

More than anything, Oisten credited Corbin’s approach to business with his success.

“Other people had four or five percent increases,” Oisten said, “but he had 56 and all he did was just ‘be Dave’ — honesty, dependability, integrity — all the words are right there in Dave’s makeup.”
