Shirley Jane Blackwell

Shirley Jane Blackwell, 84, of Greencastle, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2019.

She was born Nov. 29, 1934 in Indianapolis, the daughter of William and Helen (Ballard) Garl.

She attended Monrovia High School.

Shirley was a homemaker and had worked in quality assurance at Walmart Distribution.

She is survived by her daughter, Tracy (husband Denny) Nave; son Johnny (wife Donna) Blackwell; brother William "Bill" (wife Sharon) Garl; sister Wilma Branham; seven grandchildren, Brandon, Carrie, Kristin, Tristan, Tyler, Breanna and Alexa; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oren Blackwell; her parents and siblings, Bon Luttrell, Doris Garl and Jerry Garl.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 28 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle. Interment will follow at Fillmore Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27.
