The members of 100 Women Who Care Putnam County are ready to continue giving back to Putnam County local nonprofit 501(c)3 organizations.

After giving back more than $200,000 in the past five years, the group will begin its sixth year of supporting these organizations with a charitable gift on Wednesday, April 3.

Over the course of 2019, the group of women will continue making a great impact for Putnam County, possibly a $50,000 impact. That’s $40,000 to four local nonprofit organizations and $10,000 going into an endowment/operating fund administered by the Putnam County Community Foundation.

Philanthropy and passion is what drives 100 Women Who Care to come together collectively to simply give back. The events happen four times each year. This is a time for women to socialize, network and become more educated on what various community nonprofits have to offer. Members have learned about many nonprofits that operate in Putnam County.

Any woman looking for a simple way to help out the community is welcome to join.

Since 2014, this group of women has had the pleasure of giving to 18 different non-profit organizations: Beyond Homeless, Gobin Summer Enrichment, Putnam County Humane Shelter, Putnam County Emergency Food Pantry, The Castle, St. Andrew’s Nonfood Pantry, Special Olympics, Transformers, A-Kinetic Change, Area 30 Culinary Arts, Cloverdale Community School Bands, Mental Health America, Putnam County Library PALS, Greencastle Civic League, Putnam County Imagination Library, Ridpath Elementary PTO, Putnam County Comprehensive Services and Phil the Need.

The April 3 meeting will take place at the Inn at DePauw. Social hour and registration starts at 5 p.m., followed by the meeting at 6 p.m.

Members should note the date changes for 2019. Meetings will take place on April 3, June 5, Sept. 4 and Nov. 6. The changes were made in the effort of accommodating as many women as possible.

For more information and to obtain a membership form, go to www.pcfoundation.org or contact one of the steering committee members: Julie Thompson, Amy Davies, Sandi Rossok, Sharyl Berry, Vicki Deno and Gwen Morris.
