Dollars for Scholar

North Putnam High School senior Shalyn Nelson, Russellville, receives a $1,000 scholarship check from Parke County REMC, represented by board director Mark Evans, in whose district she resides. The cooperative recently awarded six $1,000 scholarships to children of Parke County REMC members who live within a service territory that covers six counties. Recipients will be attending accredited colleges as first-year students in the fall of 2019. Besides Nelson, the winners are Ben Lynk and Kylen McMullen of Rockville, T.J. Rutan of Rosedale, Emily Gill of Marshall and Markeese Burks of Crawfordsville.
