Veldon R. Smith

Veldon R. Smith, age 74, of Roachdale, passed away on April 1, 2019 in Tampa, Fla.

He was born on Feb. 28, 1945 in Moss, Tenn., to the late Estus and Vassye Hinson Smith.

Veldon was an avid trap shooter and golfer.

He attended Faith Baptist Church in Avon and Grace Baptist Church in Coatesville.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary (Cooper) Smith; son Steve (Missy) Smith; daughter Annette Sperback; grandchildren Courtney Smith, Jacob Smith, Daniel (Haley) Smith, Zachary (Alex) Sperback and Hannah Sperback; and a great-grandchild, Penelope Smith.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 8 at Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. with burial to follow in Stilesville Cemetery.
