Jerry Lewis Humphreys, 89, of Waveland, passed away April 12, 2019 at Life's Journey of Avon.

He was born on Oct. 30, 1929 in Parke County to the late Carl and Ferris (Heslar) Humphreys.

He married Grace M. (Gibbs) Humphreys on Dec. 4, 1949 in Milligan, Ind. She passed away on Oct. 6, 2013.

After graduating from Green Township High school, Jerry went and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.

He was a grain and livestock farmer most of his life.

He was a member of Portland Mills Church, Alamo Masonic Lodge, Cushman Club, IWCS Woodworkers, Parke and Vermillion County Antique Tractor Club.

His hobbies include woodworking, snowmobiling, guns and riding his scooters.

He is survived by his children, Rodney Lewis (Diane) Humphreys, Rockville, and Rita Ann (Greg) Humphreys-Stultz, Rockville; grandchildren, Abe (Ginnie) Humphreys, Ross (Micah) Humphreys, Brianne (Dave) Walters, Tiffany Kelly, Josh (Amanda) Stultz, and Brandon Everson; 13 great-grandchildren; special friend, Jeanetta Starr, Waveland; siblings, Phil (Joyce) Humphreys and Fred (Sally) Humphreys; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Grace M. (Gibbs) Humphreys.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 17 at Portland Mills Church, 11525 Harbison Rd., Rockville, IN 47872. Rev. Sam Link will be officiating. Burial will follow at Portland Mills Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family at Machledt & Servies Funeral Home, 301 E. Green St., Waveland, from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 16.
